burti ("burti", "we", "us") is a platform where fans subscribe to artists and receive their drops — audio, art, voice notes and text — react to them, and support artists directly. This policy explains what we collect, why, who we share it with, and the choices you have.

Information we collect

Account & identityYour email address and the name you sign in with. If you use Sign in with Apple's "Hide My Email", we receive only Apple's private relay address, not your real email.
ProfileYour display name, username/handle, and any profile photo you upload.
Content you createDrops you upload (audio, images, video, voice notes, text), reactions, prophecies, and (for artists) profile, pricing and announcement content.
Subscriptions & paymentsRecords of which artists you subscribe to and your subscription status. Card/payment details are entered on, and processed by, our payment provider — burti never sees or stores your full card information.
Device & notificationsA push notification token for your device so we can deliver notifications you've enabled.
Technical & usageBasic technical data needed to operate the service (e.g. log and session data, app version, general device type).

How we use your information

How we share your information

We do not sell your personal information, and we do not show third-party ads. We share data only with service providers that help us run burti, and only as needed:

SupabaseAuthentication and database (your account, profile, subscriptions, content).
PaystackPayment processing for subscriptions.
Cloudflare R2Storage and delivery of uploaded media.
Apple & GoogleSign-in (when you choose Apple or Google) and, for Apple, push notification delivery (APNs).
ResendTransactional and account emails.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, and security of our users and the service.

Data retention & deletion

We keep your information for as long as your account is active. You can delete your account at any time from Settings → Delete Account in the app; this permanently removes your account, profile, and associated data, subject to any records we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (for example, payment records).

Your rights & choices

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the Nigeria Data Protection Act, the GDPR (for EU/EEA users), or other local regulations. To exercise any right, contact us below.

Security

We use reputable infrastructure providers and apply access controls and encryption in transit to protect your data. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to protect your information and promptly address issues we become aware of.

Children

burti is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will remove it.

International transfers

Our service providers may process and store data in countries other than yours. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards for such transfers.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above and, where appropriate, by notifying you in the app.
